Extraction process and sustainable growth
We've selected the optimal extraction method for each mushroom in this blend to ensure you get the most benefits from them. Chaga and Reishi undergo dual extraction using both water and alcohol to maximise the bioavailability of polysaccharides, beta-glucans and triterpenes. The remaining mushrooms in the blend are hot water extracted, focusing on the bioavailability of beta-glucans. Sourced from organic farms where they grow in their natural habitat, these mushrooms are certified organic, ensuring both potency and purity.
Upon harvesting, each mushroom species undergoes specialised drying methods tailored to preserve its unique properties, ranging from sun-drying to bespoke drying facilities. Sustainability is a key priority in this operation: the wood used during cultivation is recycled as fuel for the drying process, and the ashes return to the fields as fertiliser, ensuring near-complete material reuse.
The full fruiting bodies are then finely ground to a particle size less than 0.125 mm. Various grinding techniques are applied depending on the specific mushroom type, ensuring high bioavailability for better absorption of beneficial compounds. The varying extract strengths in the formula (such as 14:1 for Reishi and 10:1 for Chaga) are indicative of the potency of each extract relative to the dried mushroom. For example, an extract strength of 14:1 means that for every 1g of extract, we use 14g of dried mushroom.
Through meticulous attention to detail, sustainable practices, and scientific rigour, this Mushroom Superblend is designed to be both effective and eco-friendly, offering robust support for your health and well-being.
The high-quality, nutrient-rich mushrooms in this powder are either sustainably wild-harvested in Siberia (chaga) or sustainably grown and harvested in organic farms in the provinces of Fujian and Jiangxi, in the Chinese uplands (for all other mushrooms apart from chaga), in which climate they thrive and where they have been valued and consumed for centuries. Our suppliers regularly visit the farms to ensure sustainable cultivation in pristine conditions, away from harmful industrial toxins. All of our sourced mushrooms undergo rigorous testing to ensure there is no trace of lead or of any other heavy metals or toxins.
